The ITL project was founded in 2008 by HertsCam. It involved partners in the Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and the UK.
The project, funded by Open Society Foundations, ran from 2010-2012. It enabled us to plan, launch and evaluate teacher leadership programmes. The project featured a series of international team meetings which were all documented. The 'portraits' of these meetings show how our understanding and practice grew between 2008-2012.
Below are images of each of the six portraits and the downloadable PDFs.
These portrait documents show how the collective thinking of members of the ITL team developed over a 4 year period.
A number of network events were also documented in different ways. For example, a network event for teachers in Moldova and Romania was held in Burcharest in May 2011. A portrait of that event can be viewed and downloaded by clicking on the icon below.
A film portraying the teacher leadership programme led by an NGO, proMente based in Sarajevo portrayed ITL in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This can be viewed on YouTube: https://youtu.be/9IRnfmybMtk
In May 2013, at a mountain resort in Fruska Gora, Serbia, we held a combined ITL team members' meeting and a network event for teachers. A member of the team made a short video in the style of a blockbuster movie trailer which can be viewed on YourTube: https://youtu.be/X0AaAh6JIXA
A chapter about the event in Fruska Gora also appeared in the book – Transforming Education Through Teacher Leadership – published in 2015. Click on the icon below to view and download this chapter.
