What Can Headteachers Do to Support Teachers’ Leadership? This is one of a series of LfL bulletins (No. 4) which draws from a research project about the impact of teacher-led development work and how school principals can maximise it. The Legacy of the Carpe Vitam Leadership for Learning project This is one of a series of LfL bulletins (No. 8) which documents what was learnt from this international project. Contents of special issue of the International Journal of Teacher Leadership We were invited to produce a special issue for the Spring 2029 issue. We did 10 articles about HertsCam / ITL which involved 30 authors. Acting Up: PGCE and secondary students in collaboration A short article by David Frost which accounts for a project in which trainee teachers collaborate with secondary school pupils to explore classroom management issues through drama. Continuing Professional Development and why it should be abolished This was published in Portuguese in a book edited by Flores and Silva called 'Currículo, Avaliação e Desenvolvimento Profissional' (2018). Literature review on teacher-led learning circles for formative assessment / AfL This document was produced by a research team at OISE as part of the launch of the project in which that HertsCam is collaborating with Education International. Non-Positional Teacher Leadership: Distributed leadership and self-efficacy This was a chapter in the book FLIP THE SYSTEM:CHANGING EDCUCATION FROM THE GROUND UP edited by Jelmer Evers and Rene Kneyber (2015, Routledge) Report for OECD This report was written as a contribution to the briefing documents prepared by the OECD for the forthcoming International Summit on the Teaching Profession. Article by David Frost 'Human agency, learning and leadership in schools' (2023) This is a short article about the central role that human agency plasy in both learning and leadership in schools. It explores the concept from sociological and psychological perspectives and draw out the implications for practice. Report on the International Teacher Leadership project (2011) This document reports on the ITL project which ran from 2009-11 in 15 countries. It was an Open Society funded project which enabled HertsCam to work with partners in Western Balkan countries and other European countries to launch teacher leadership support programmes. The EFFeCT project (2016) This document - Collaborative Teacher Learning: Cases from the HertsCam Network - reports on a European funded project which focused on the work of HertsCam. The research was carried out by the Centre for Educational Leadership at the University of Hertfordshire. The IPiL project (2008) The Influence and Participation of Young People in their Learning (IPiL) project was commissioned by the General Teaching Council for England (GTC). Many HertsCam schools were involved in this research. Report for Education International (EI) (2012) David Frost and John Bangs were commissioned to conduct research on teacher self-efficacy, voice and leadership by EI, the global federation of teacher unions. It conclused with a 7 point polict recommendation about an enabkling environment. Supporting the Growth of Students as leaders: a student / teacher partnership approach This handbook, by Amanda Roberts and Judith Nash, followed on from their Supporting students as researchers: making a difference to your school. It supports students as active participants in leading learning in their school, developing and deepening their ability to influence policy and practice. Teacher-led development work: a methodology This was published as a HertsCam Occasional Paper (2013) to clarify the nature and origin of the TLDW approach to supporting non-positional teacher leadership. The HertsCam TLDW programme This chapter by Val Hill was included in the book 'Transforming Education through Teacher Leadership edited by David Frost. The aim was to build on the Occasional Paper listed above. Education in Palestine: Current challenges and emancipatory alternatives This report by Hanan Ramahi was commissioned by the Rosa Luxembourg foundation in Ramallah. The non-positional teacher leadership programme that HertsCam helped to found in Palestine was included amongst many other emancipatory initiatives. |
