Programme of Network Events
There are 5 Network Events a year hosted by schools in the network. There are typically between 50 and 150 teachers and other practitioners participating in each of these events. Participants display posters depicting their development projects. There is normally a programme of workshop sessions focusing their development projects led by practitioners . These events are for network members but we welcome anyone who may be interested in finding out more about HertsCam. If you are interested in attending please use our contact page to let us know. International Virtual Network Event
17th October 2020 Our first international network event of the year included a range of workshops led by TLDW and MEd colleagues from HertsCam as well as our sister networks in Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Malaysia. The traditional poster session, an integral part of face to face events, was replaced with a breakout session where current TLDW participants were able to explore their professional concern with colleagues and gain valuable feedback. This is an innovation for our network events and means that from the getgo, new participants have been able to benefit from the opportunity to consult colleagues across our international networks. Thank you to all contributors and facilitators for making this event such a success!
HertsCam Annual Conference
The next HertsCam Virtual International Conference will be held on Saturday 26th June 2021 0830 - 1230
You are welcome to join us! Please register your interest by emailing Heather Walker: hwalker@hertscamnetwork.org.uk Please take a look at this inspirational video from our 2019 Annual Conference:
A video of the 2014 conference can be viewed below: The HertsCam 20 year Anniversary Symposium
The symposium and gala dinner that took place on 12th July was a significant milestone in HertsCam’s history. The aim was to look back over the 20 years since the beginning of the partnership that became HertsCam and to think about its future direction. The means to do this was an extended discussion stimulated and framed by an exhibition, a presentation and a dinner. The conversation was supported with tools designed to enable everyone to focus.
The exhibition depicted breakthrough practices and key insights in the evolution of the network organised according to twelve propositions about teacher and school development. We used the tried and tested Gallery Walk technique to enable everyone to discuss each of the propositions. The presentation consisted of a brief narrative offered by David Frost who has been a key figure in HertsCam’s development. His story began with his work in Kent, antecedent to the foundation of HertsCam and accounted for the emergence of the network as an independent teacher-led organisation. Each of the twelve stations in the exhibition was facilitated by network members who also recorded key features of the discussion. After an elegant champagne reception on the college lawn, the discussion continued over dinner. The tool used at dinner asked everyone to talk about and scribble comments on: What? Why? What next? How? and What else? Conversations continued in the bar after dinner and at breakfast the next day. And a few photos of the event can be seen in the slideshow below. |
