The
Teacher Led Development Work (TLDW) programme
TLDW enables anyone working in schools - teachers, teaching assistants, librarians, busars etc - to focus on school improvement by designing and leading projects designed to improve teaching and learning in their schools.
The TLDW methodology enables programme participants to effect change both in their own classrooms and across the whole school community. Each participant will be guided towards consultations with colleagues to snure that their project is in harmony with the school's priorities.
TLDW operates through school-based workshops which enable reflection, planning and critical friendship. A collection of tried and tested tools is used by a team of experienced teachers who act as facilitators.
Facilitators are provided with an induction programme, access to materials and ongoing support at no cost.
Sucessful completion of the programme leads to the award of the Certificate in Teacher Leadership which can be counted as credit towards a masters degree.

Our programme in 2022-23
The TLDW programme was first launched in Hertfordshire in 2004. For the last two years, it has been labelled ELDP. This name change was intended to signal that the programme is open to anyone working in schools. This inclusive approach remains intact. We welcome applications from teacher, teaching assistants, librarians, bursars and support staff of all sorts. In 2022-23, we have groups in Hertfordshire, Essex, parts of London, Northern Ireland and Newcastle. In 2023-24, we plan to offer the programme in other parts of the UK including Yorkshire, Peterborough and Northampton. We welcome enquiries from any part of the UK. |
